ESTES PARK - At the edge of the Rocky Mountains
Estes Park is a prow house built in a desert-like climate at the edge of the Rocky Mountains. Like all Enertia homes, it fits beautifully with its surroundings.
We first visited Estes Park after the construction was complete but before the owners had moved in. The French doors lead to the sunspace entryway. The image on the left is the dining room in the East wing of the home with an arched opening leading in to the kitchen. The image on the right is the dining room looking in the opposite direction.
The main floor kitchen combines ultra contemporary components with the warmth of solid wood and earth-colored tiles.
The great room has incredible views and a heatilator fireplace for coziness and back-up heat.
The master suite is in West wing. Both bedroom and bathroom have lots of windows for light and mountain views.
Also in the West wing is this Study (directly off the Sunspace) and a half bath.
Upstairs is an entirely open loft, generously lit by the skylights, prow windows and large doors and windows to the upstairs North Balcony.
The lower level is bright and sunny. Enertia homes feature either a walk-out basement or a band of windows on the South, depending on the "lay of the land." This basement is fully finished as an in-law apartment, complete with its own kitchen.
A deck extends across the entire front of the house. It is kept narrow to avoid shading the basement windows below.
The two car garage is on the Northeast corner. Above it is a porch that began as a screened porch, but became an enclosed sunroom.
